The practice of therapy is both an art and a science. While essential scientific ideas can be learned in school, the art of therapy can be difficult to master. Clinical supervision provides guidance and support from a more experienced practitioner to trainee mental health professionals. Gain access to ongoing consultation with help and support from no other than Dr. Baty herself.

DUTIES

Here are a list of  some activities you will be involved in:

  • Facilitate /co-facilitate  group therapy
  • Assist with the development of curriculum for  group
  • Group therapy documentation
  • Observe individual counseling sessions
  • Facilitate individual sessions
  • Case-management (teaching life skills 1:1)
  • Learn documentation styles (e.g., DAP, SOAP notes)
  • Completing an intake interview
  • observe marital sessions
  • Observe parenting class
  • Create worksheets 
  • Develop treatments plans
  • Schedule client appointments
  • Introduction to use of Electronic Medical Records
  • 1:1 psychoeducation
  • Advocacy support (with survivors of DV)
  • Observe/co-facilitate  family sessions
  • Website modifications (adding documents, updating therapy activities etc.)
